Accessibility Statement
Penworthy is committed to making learning available to everyone — and that includes our online store. We want every parent, caregiver, and educator to be able to browse, shop, and check out with ease.
Our commitment
We believe everyone should be able to use our Store regardless of ability or the technology they rely on. We are continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of penworthy.com and to follow recognized accessibility standards.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor differences.
Measures we take
To support accessibility, we:
- Design with sufficient color contrast and scalable, readable text.
- Make the Store navigable by keyboard, with visible focus styles.
- Provide descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Use clear, consistent labels and structure for forms and checkout.
- Respect reduced-motion preferences for animations and transitions.
- Include accessibility in our design reviews for new pages and kits.
Compatibility
The Store is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and to be compatible with common assistive technologies, including screen readers and screen magnifiers, on recent operating systems.
The Store may not work as expected on browsers more than three versions old or with assistive technologies that are no longer supported by their makers.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of, and actively working on:
- A small number of third-party widgets (such as some payment frames) whose accessibility we do not fully control.
- Older product images that may lack complete alternative text.
- Occasional PDF receipts that may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please let us know — your feedback helps us prioritize fixes.
Feedback & assistance
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Store. If you have trouble using any part of the site, or need help placing an order, please contact us and we will do our best to assist and to provide the information you need in an accessible way.
How we assess
We evaluate the Store using a combination of automated testing tools and manual review, including keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader checks. We review accessibility when we launch significant new features and on a regular ongoing basis.
